Elegant Gourmet Onions

- 5 Sliced sweet onions
- 1/3 cup Butter or margarine
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 1/2 cup Cooking sherry
- 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
- Parsley sprigs
In large skillet, saute onions in butter for 5 - 8 minutes, until
barely
tender. Stir while cooking to separate rings. Sprinkle with salt
and
pepper; stir in sherry. Cook quickly, stirring, for 2 -3 minutes.
Pour into serving dish and sprinkle with cheese.
Garnish with sprigs of parsley.
