Skillet Spanish Rice

This easy Spanish rice is made with ground beef, chopped onion and pepper, and tomato sauce. It's a quick and easy meal, or serve it as a side dish.

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1 cup uncooked long grain rice
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions:

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the onion and green bell pepper; drain off excess fat.

Stir in the rice, chili powder, salt, pepper, tomato sauce and water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until rice is tender.

Spanish rice recipe serves 6.
