Coconut Pecan Won Tons

These little won ton packages are filled with a coconut and pecan mixture then they're deep fried to perfection. They make a delicious little snack for a weekend treat or special gathering.

Prep Time: 25 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 package (12 ounces) won ton wrappers
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • oil for deep frying
  • powdered sugar

Instructions:

Combine the pecans, coconut, and brown sugar. Spoon 1 teaspoon of the mixture into the center of a won ton square. Fold into a triangle and moisten edges with beaten egg to seal. Repeat until the coconut and pecan mixture is all used.

Heat oil to 370°.

Working with small batches, drop filled won tons into the hot oil and fry until browned, turning to brown both sides.

Put confectioners' sugar in a bag. Put warm fried won tons in the bag and shake gently to coat.
