Coleslaw Recipe

Colorful Cole Slaw

This cole slaw is colorful and flavorful, with red and green cabbage, carrots, apple, and easy dressing.
  • 1 samll head cabbage, about 1 1/2 pounds
  • 1 small head red cabbage, about 1 to 1 1/2 pounds
  • 2 medium carrots, peeled, shredded
  • 1 medium apple, peeled, cored, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • dash pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise or salad dressing (such as Miracle Whip), or to taste







Cut the cabbages into quarters and remove cores; shred and place in a large bowl. Add the shredded carrots and apple. Combine the mustard, sugar, salt, pepper, and 1 cup of the mayonnaise or salad dressing. Toss with the cole slaw mixture, blending well. Add more mayonnaise or salad dressing until desired consistency and taste is reached. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour.
Serves 8.
