Creole Style Pork Chops
These baked pork chops are easy and delicious. Serve them with potatoes or rice for a satisfying family meal.
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 6 loin pork chops, 1 inch thick
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, plain or Cajun style
- 1 can (10 3/4 ounces) tomato soup
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
Combine flour, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, the pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Dredge pork chops in flour mixture. Heat skillet over medium heat. Add pork chops and brown on both sides. Place the browned chops in a casserole dish. Discard excess grease in skillet. Add chopped vegetables and cook for 2 minutes; add tomatoes and tomato soup and salt; heat thoroughly. Pour over chops in casserole. Bake at 350° for 1 hour, or until chops are tender.
