Macaroni and Cheese Squares

  • 1 1/4 cups milk, scalded
  • 3/4 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked macaroni
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups grated Cheddar cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten







Pour milk over crumbs and butter. Add remaining ingredients in order given; mix thoroughly. Spoon into a buttered 11x7-inch baking dish. Set dish in a pan with about 1/2-inch of hot water. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes, or until browned and or a knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cut into squares and garnish with parsley, if desired.
Serves 6.
