Creamy Green Beans au Gratin

  • 2 cans (approx. 15 ounces each) green beans, drained
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp, drained, and crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • dash teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten







Put beans into a shallow, buttered baking dish. Sprinkle green beans with crumbled bacon and shredded cheese. in a bowl, combine half-and-half, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and eggs; whisk to blend well. Pour over beans and bake at 375° for 25 minutes, or until set.
Green Bean Recipe serves 6.
