Red Cabbage with Sweet and Tart Sauce
1 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 whole cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 medium bay leaf
2 teaspoons grated onion
5 cups cooked red cabbage
In saucepan simmer vinegar, brown sugar, cloves, salt, and bay leaf. Add grated onion; pour over hot cooked cabbage. Remove bay leaf.
Red cabbage recipe serves 6 to 8.
