Easy Macaroni and Cheese Bake

This is an easy macaroni and cheese made with sour cream and American cheese. Look for several more macaroni and cheese recipes below the recipe.

Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes

  • 2 cups macaroni or shells
  • 12 ounces shredded or diced process American cheese
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream



Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. In a buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole, place about 1/3 of the macaroni. Top with 1/3 of the cheese and dot with some of the butter. Sprinkle with a little salt and pepper then add about 1/3 of the sour cream. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with the sour cream. Bake at 350°, covered, for about 30 minutes.
