Chicken and Spaghetti Bake

  • 1 chicken, 3 pounds, cut up, or use equivalent chicken parts
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 large can tomato sauce (15 ounces)
  • 1 can (4 ounces) mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon dried leaf oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce, or more to taste
  • 4 ounces broken spaghetti
  • Parmesan cheese







In Dutch oven brown chicken in vegetable oil. Add onion and garlic and sauté until onion is tender. Stir in water, tomato sauce, drained mushrooms, oregano, salt, and hot pepper sauce. Cover and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
Stir in spaghetti and bake 30 minutes longer, or until chicken and spaghetti are tender, stirring occasionally. Serve with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
This chicken and spaghetti recipe serves 4.
