Spicy Barbecue Sauce
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup water
1 1/2 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons powdered mustard
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more, to taste
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, mashed
In a saucepan combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil; boil for 1 minute. Store tightly covered in refrigerator. Use as a sauce for meat of chicken. Keep for a few weeks in the refrigerator or freeze in smaller portions for a few months.
