Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 pounds fully cooked ham steak(s)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 can (8 to 16 ounces) pineapple chunks or tidbits
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

Slow Cooker

  1. Place the ham steaks in the slow cooker.
  2. Combine the brown sugar and cornstarch in a bowl or 2-cup measure; blend well. Add the ketchup, pineapple juice, vinegar, minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper.
  3. Sprinkle the pineapple chunks over the ham in the slow cooker, then pour the sauce mixture over all.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours.

Oven

 

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F.
  2. Place the ham steaks in a baking dish.
  3. Combine the brown sugar and cornstarch in a bowl or 2-cup measure; blend well. Add the ketchup, the juice from the pineapple, vinegar, minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper.
  4. Sprinkle the pineapple chunks over the ham in the slow cooker, then pour the sauce mixture over all.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes.
