BBQ Ham Steak

  • 1 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 smoked ham slices, 1/2-inch thick, about 1 1/2 pounds total
  • 1 (8 1/4 oz) can sliced pineapple, drained





Combine first 6 ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat; stir well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes; stirring frequently. Remove sauce from heat and set aside.

Trim excess fat from ham slices. Grill over medium coals 20 to 25 minutes or until done as desired. Turn and baste every 5 minutes with sauce.

Grill pineapple slices over medium coals for about a minute on each side. Garnish ham with pineapple; serve with remaining sauce.
Serves 4.
