Beans & Biscuits
This family casserole is easy to fix, with browned ground beef, baked beans, barbecue sauce, and shredded cheese.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/3 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 can baked beans, about 21 ounces
- 1 package refrigerator flaky biscuits
- 1/2 to 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese or a mixture of Mozzarella and Cheddar
Instructions:
In a skillet, brown the ground beef with onion. Add to this the barbecue sauce and brown
sugar (adjust amounts to your taste). Mix well and add the beans. Simmer a
few minutes and pour into a casserole dish. Open the package of biscuits
divide them and cut across the middle.
Place these on their cut edge around the outer edge of dish, pointing from
edge to center. Sprinkle the cheese generously over the tops of the
biscuits. Bake in 350° F. oven until biscuits are brown and crispy, about 30
minutes. Serve this bean dish with a tossed salad or poato salad.
