Root Beer Baked Beans

This recipe comes from a newspaper clipping. The root beer and barbecue sauce flavor these tasty beans. Ingredients:

  • 2 slices Bacon, diced
  • 1 small Onion, diced
  • 36 to 40 ounces canned baked beans
  • 1/2 cup root beer
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • drop hot pepper sauce, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions:



Cook bacon with onion in saucepan until bacon is brown and crisp. Add remaining ingredients. Heat to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, stir ring often, until slightly thickened, about 20 mins.

Prep Time: 5 mins. Cooking time: 25 mins.
