Gourmet Mushrooms

Use a Cabernet, Merlot, or Pinot Noir in this mushroom recipe.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 8 hours
Total Time: 8 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 pounds Mushrooms
  • 1 pound Butter
  • 1 bottle dry red wine
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dill seed
  • 1 teaspoon Ground pepper
  • 2 small Garlic cloves -- minced
  • 2 cups -Water -- boiling
  • 3 Beef bouillon cubes
  • 3 Chicken bouillon cubes



    Instructions:

    Combine all ingredients in large saucepan or saute pan. Bring to a boil on medium-high heat; reduce to a low simmer. Cover and cook for 5 to 6 hours. Remove lid and cook another 3 to 5 hours, until liquid barely covers mushrooms. Let cool slightly; serve hot in a chafing dish with toothpicks.
